Khaberni - The value of transactions through the "eFawateercom" electronic payment system increased during the third quarter of 2025 to 4.07 billion dinars, marking a 6.3% increase compared to the same year's second quarter, which recorded 3.83 billion dinars, and a notable increase from the first quarter which had a value of 3.67 billion dinars, according to the third quarter report issued by the Jordanian Company for Payment Systems and Clearing (JoPACC).
The report also showed a rise in the number of "eFawateercom" users in the third quarter by 2.8%, reaching 4.9 million users, compared to 4.76 million users in the second quarter and 4.65 million users in the first quarter of the same year.
As for the number of transactions, the total during the third quarter was about 19.67 million transactions, with an increase of 6.8% compared to 18.42 million transactions in the second quarter, and 17.09 million transactions in the first quarter of 2025.
Telecommunications led the category in terms of the number of transactions during the third quarter, with 6.25 million transactions, followed by water and electricity with 5.49 million transactions, then government services with 3.92 million transactions, and electronic wallet companies and payment service providers with 1.71 million transactions, followed by financial services with 0.92 million transactions, then education with 0.57 million transactions, travel and transportation with 0.19 million transactions, and trade and services with 0.14 million transactions, followed by associations and organizations with 0.1 million transactions, and finally, gas and energy with 0.01 million transactions.
As for the value of the transactions, government services topped the list during the third quarter with a value of 2.3 billion dinars, followed by electronic wallet companies and payment service providers with 871.3 million dinars, then water and electricity with 261.3 million dinars, and education with 175.4 million dinars, followed by financing and financial services with 143.8 million dinars, then telecommunications with 100.3 million dinars, and gas and energy with 40.4 million dinars, then travel and transportation with 21.3 million dinars, banks with 0.46 million dinars, and finally trade and services with 0.44 million dinars.
According to the report, the number of transactions through digital payments was about 16 million transactions in the third quarter, accounting for 81.6% of the total number of transactions, compared to 15 million transactions in the second quarter at 82.6%. In contrast, cash payments recorded 3.6 million transactions in the third quarter, accounting for 18.4%, compared to 3.2 million transactions in the second quarter at 17.4%.
As for the value of the transactions according to the method of payment, digital payments in the third quarter amounted to about 3.2 billion dinars, representing 78.5% of the total value, while cash payments reached 875 million dinars at 21.5%. This compares to the second quarter, where digital payments recorded 3.1 billion dinars at 80.5%, and cash payments 747 million dinars at 19.5%.
