Khaberni - The Ministry of Environment, continuing its joint efforts with relevant authorities, announced the results of laboratory tests conducted at accredited national laboratories which confirmed the safety of the dam’s water and its freedom from any contamination.
The analysis conducted at the Ministry of Health's Department of Environmental Health laboratories, the Royal Scientific Society, and the Aqaba International Laboratories revealed that the fish deaths were caused by the decreased levels of dissolved oxygen in the water, due to lowered reservoir levels and temperature changes.
The Ministry of Environment reaffirmed its continued commitment to the safety of environmental elements and water sources in the kingdom, and the continuation of its regulatory and technical programs in cooperation with partners in relevant entities, to ensure the preservation of ecosystems and prevent any risks that may affect public health or biodiversity.
