Khaberni - The Egyptian artist Edward has formally apologized to his audience following the controversy sparked by the episode featuring the artist Azza Said on his program "Cairo Today", announcing the episode's removal from all platforms out of respect for the viewers' feelings, and affirming that what happened during the broadcast was unintended.

Edward said in a statement published on his official Instagram account: "When the preparation team informed me about the presence of the artist Azza Said, I was very happy because I was going to host a talented and long-missed colleague. As always in my program, I honor the stars who have delighted us with their work, and since the program is broadcast live, I was surprised during the interview by some unexpected issues, and out of respect for the guest's situation, I ended the segment earlier than planned without showing my surprise."

He added, saying: "We decided to delete the episode out of respect for the audience and everyone who felt disturbed by what happened, and I extend my sincere apologies, as it was not my intention to offend anyone, as everyone knows me, I always strive to support my fellow artists and appreciate them."

Details of the Crisis

The episode had caused a widespread controversy on social media platforms, as viewers found Azza Said's appearance inappropriate, and the dialogue took on a mocking tone at the expense of her human condition.

During the interview, Azza Said made several surprising statements, saying she "had arranged for lead roles from her birth to be executed twenty years later, and that the late director Youssef Chahine was looking for her for a joint project", noting that she had agreed on 20 films with director Sherif Arafa, and that she has 16 films each year and a diamond store, as well as receiving the title of Miss Egypt in Dubai and Miss Lebanon."

These statements confused the audience, as the actress spoke with complete seriousness, leading some to question her health status, and turning the situation from humorous to concerning.

It is worth mentioning that the artist Azza Said is a graduate of the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts, and began her artistic career under the direction of director Mohamed El-Naggar, who introduced her in a number of notable works, including Sa'idi Rayeh Gay, Zaki Chan, Al-Basha Telmiz, Kan Yom Hobak, Ya Ana Ya Khalty, Katkout, and Mido Mashakel, making her one of the most prominent faces known to the audience in the 1990s and early 2000s.
