Khaberni - News circulating on social media in the past few hours has stirred controversy about Lebanese artist Fadel Shaker, after some accounts claimed that he was afflicted with a severe health condition and was transferred to a hospital within the Lebanese Ministry of Defense.
However, Lebanese media outlets quickly denied these reports, confirming that Fadel Shaker is in good health and is not suffering from any health issues that warrant concern.
The program "ET in Arabic" also confirmed that the rumors about his deteriorating condition or his transfer for treatment were "completely unfounded," noting that the artist is doing well and is normally following the legal procedures related to his file after recently surrendering to the Lebanese authorities.
Fadel Shaker has recently ended a phase that lasted for more than ten years of hiding, after he surrendered to the Lebanese army in the Yarze area, a step described as surprising and unexpected, thus beginning a new chapter in his career that combines art, law, and politics.
Despite previously hinting at his desire to surrender, the decision came this time abruptly and secretly even to his family, as sources close revealed that his son Mohammed Shaker was not aware of it and had traveled to Doha on the same day.
The sources explained that Shaker made his decision after experiencing increasing pressures inside the Ain al-Hilweh camp, where he faced harassment and threats from extremist groups opposed to his return to the art scene, making him feel that his presence there was no longer safe.
Legally, it is expected that the file of cases related to the Abra events will see consecutive court sessions in the coming period, amidst two main possibilities: either issuing new verdicts against him after reviewing the files, or granting Fadel Shaker conditional release pending the completion of investigations with other involved parties in the case.
