AI Gates for Monitoring Violations and Regulating Traffic Movement in Dubai

Khaberni - The Dubai Police General Command revealed at the GITEX 2025 exhibition an intelligent traffic system consisting of gates equipped with AI-enhanced cameras capable of detecting several violations, including using a phone while driving, not wearing a seatbelt, improper overtaking, overtaking from the road shoulder, and unjustified stopping in the middle of the road.

Director of the General Administration of Artificial Intelligence, Major General Khaled Nasser Al Razzouqi, told "Emarat Al Youm" on the sidelines of GITEX, that the system is fully managed by artificial intelligence unlike the previously used system. As soon as a violation is detected, it is analyzed immediately and recorded against the violator.

He added that the smart gates can also monitor and analyze the traffic situation on the road, determine congestion times, and thus the results can be used to regulate movement by studying traffic density and the number of vehicles at different times of the day.

Dubai Police displayed a live broadcast of three gates on Sheikh Zayed, Al Khail, and Meydan streets, and Al Razzouqi reported that the system covers the entrances and exits of the emirate and the main roads.

He continued that the participation of the Dubai Police General Command in GITEX aims to highlight the latest innovations that contribute to enhancing security and safety in the Emirate of Dubai, in line with future directions in the safe city, pointing out that the development of artificial intelligence included several sectors in the security sector, such as traffic side, radar systems, and road regulation, aimed at achieving the highest levels of safety, analyzing drivers' behavior, contributing to reducing accidents, and reducing the rate of fatalities resulting from them, in addition to the service aspect for providing the best services to customers through digital platforms, the website, and Dubai Police's smart application.

The first day of the exhibition saw the launch of the "Dubai Police AIX" service, enhanced with artificial intelligence technologies, serving as a "smart advisor" that allows visitors to the website to obtain immediate and comprehensive answers to various queries related to traffic, criminal, and community services, through writing supported by various languages.

The "Dubai Police AIX" advisor is distinguished by its ability to directly guide the user to the requested service, with a detailed explanation of how to benefit from it, contributing to saving time and effort, and enhancing the efficiency of the customer experience.

Dubai Police also showcased on its platform an interactive digital area aimed at enabling visitors to familiarize themselves with the services of Dubai Police digitally and interactively through screens shaped like a square room, offering an exceptional experience in learning about future services and technologies.
