12 new A320neo aircraft enhance the Royal Jordanian fleet

Khaberni - The Royal Jordanian Airline continues to implement its strategic plan to update its fleet and enhance its position in the airline industry, where the company has introduced a new "Airbus A320neo" aircraft, bringing the total number of new aircraft of this model to 12, in addition to 7 new "Embraer E2" aircraft.

A statement from the company on Tuesday said that the Royal Jordanian fleet is characterized by modernity and advanced technology. Most of its aircraft are less than a year old. By the end of this year, 70% of the fleet will be renewed, especially with the introduction of two new "Airbus A321" aircraft, making it one of the newest fleets in the region. This reflects the national carrier's commitment to continuously keeping up with the latest developments in the aviation world and providing high-quality services to the company's passengers across various destinations.

According to the statement, Royal Jordanian has allocated two "Airbus A320neo" aircraft, equipping them with the "Premium Economy" class, which each contain 180 economy class seats, a choice in between economy class and the "Crown" business class. The introduction of aircraft fully equipped with economy seats supports vital destinations on the network and attracts more tourists to Jordan.

This year, the company also introduced two new "Embraer E2" aircraft for short-haul service, bringing the total number of "Embraer" aircraft in the fleet to seven.

As for the "Boeing 787-8" fleet currently in operation, which includes 7 aircraft, Royal Jordanian is undergoing a comprehensive upgrading process for these aircraft, including installing communication systems that provide internet (Wi-Fi) services, allowing passengers to enjoy continuous internet connection during flights, and upgrading the aircraft's cabins to meet the high standards adopted by Royal Jordanian.

The company is also repainting all aircraft with the new Livery colors and logo to match the appearance with all aircraft in the fleet from "Airbus A320neo" and "Embraer E2".

The first "Boeing 787-8" aircraft post-upgrade will join at the end of the current October, and these improvements aim to add value for passengers, with increased revenue through improved service levels and enhanced passenger satisfaction. Royal Jordanian will introduce the first new "787-9" aircraft as part of the long-haul fleet upgrading plan at the beginning of 2026.

Royal Jordanian places great importance on the air cargo sector aiming to enhance Jordan's position as a key hub for logistics and shipping activities in the region, especially with the development of the cargo operations center at Queen Alia International Airport, which includes a new medium-range cargo aircraft of the "PF A321" model, in addition to the cargo capacity on passenger aircraft.

Vice Chairman/CEO of Royal Jordanian, Samer Majali, said that the introduction of new aircraft supports the company’s strategy to promote tourism, as they will serve a number of vital destinations, supporting Royal Jordanian's efforts to promote Jordan as a preferred destination, focusing on establishing Amman as a leading regional transit hub and enhancing Royal Jordanian's status as a preferred choice for travelers wishing to connect the Levant region with major cities in the Middle East and Europe. He pointed out that the aircraft fleet is expected to grow to about 40 aircraft in the coming years.

He confirmed that the company is working to add new stations to the network to strengthen its operational hub in Amman, making it a major station in the region, as Royal Jordanian serves 55 direct stations, which aligns with the updating of the aircraft fleet.
