Khaberni - As part of its efforts to elevate the comprehensive correctional system, the Administration of Rehabilitation and Correction Centers has completed equipping a number of its centers, ensuring that inmates with disabilities can easily and smoothly access all services, while work continues on preparing the rest of the Rehabilitation and Correction Centers in the kingdom according to the set plan.
The implementation of this step is part of a comprehensive developmental plan launched by the Directorate of Public Security, aimed at enhancing the rights of persons with disabilities inside the Rehabilitation and Correction Centers and enabling them to lead their daily lives with dignity and independence, granting them their full rights in accordance with the law.
The preparation work included the qualification of facilities and infrastructure within the centers to accommodate the needs of inmates with disabilities, in addition to providing assistive devices that contribute to improving the quality of everyday life within the center, and enabling inmates to carry out their various activities easily and safely.
It is noted that the Directorate of Public Security, in coordination with the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, is keen to implement its projects and plans in a manner that conforms to the quality requirements of building for persons with disabilities, by preparing its various buildings to include ground signs for the blind, special parking spaces, safe ramps, and wide entrances and exits, in addition to preparing offices designated for receiving visitors, affirming its commitment to its comprehensive humanitarian approach.
