Decline in Returned Checks Value in Jordan to 75 Million Dinars

Khaberni - The value of returned checks during last September decreased to 75 million dinars, compared to 84 million dinars in August, accounting for 2.18% of the total value of circulated checks.

According to statistics from the Jordan Payment and Clearing Systems Company (JoPACC), the total number of returned checks last month was 16,000 checks, of which 65.5% were returned for financial reasons with a value of 45.9 million dinars, and 34.5% were returned for technical reasons with a value of 29.1 million dinars.

The number of circulated checks increased by 2.6% in September, with 539,000 checks compared to 525,000 checks in August.

The total value of circulated checks in Jordan last month was 3.44 billion dinars, with a decrease of 0.01% compared to August.

The value of circulated checks in Jordan during the past nine months of this year reached 30.14 billion dinars.

It is noted that the number of circulated checks in Jordan during the last year was 6.51 million checks, with a value of 40.3 billion Jordanian dinars.
