Khaberni - The scientist (Jordanian Palestinian Saudi American) Professor Omar Yaghi, who received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the year 2025, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the Saudi leadership, for the significant support and ongoing care for the research, development, and innovation ecosystem in the Kingdom, acknowledging that this support had the greatest impact in achieving this historic scientific achievement.

On this occasion, Yaghi said: "I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Research, Development, and Innovation, for his continuous support of my scientific career, which had the most profound impact on my receiving the Nobel Prize."

He added: "I also thank the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) for its continuous support over the past years, through the joint Center of Excellence between the University of California, Berkeley and (KACST), which played a pivotal role in advancing my scientific research."

Scientist Yaghi mentioned that winning the prize is a matter of pride for all Saudi and Arab scientists around the world, stressing that this achievement will be an inspiration for a new generation of young researchers to continue the journey of innovation and scientific discovery.

Professor Omar Yaghi is one of the most prominent Saudi scientists in the field of modern chemistry, having established the field of reticular chemistry (Reticular Chemistry), which is considered one of the most important scientific innovations of the twenty-first century, due to its impactful applications in energy, environment, water desalination, and carbon capture fields.
