Khaberni - Two people were killed today, Saturday, in Israeli raids on the areas of Msayleh and Qlaouiyeh in southern Lebanon, in an attack that was the fiercest since the ceasefire agreement, while Beirut condemned the raid that came after a similar agreement took effect in Gaza.

The Lebanese news agency reported that an Israeli drone carried out a missile strike targeting a car near the public school in the Tabbaleh neighborhood in the town of Qlaouiyeh, killing one person whose identity was not determined.

Earlier today, the Lebanese agency reported that the Israeli army launched what it described as the largest aerial aggression targeting a purely economic area since the end of the 66-day war, referring to the recent Israeli war on the country.

The agency mentioned that Israeli warplanes launched a series of aerial raids at dawn today, exceeding 10 raids, directly targeting a group of excavators and bulldozers on the Msayleh-Zahrani road in southern Lebanon.

The agency added that the attacking planes "dropped a large number of missiles, the explosion of which turned the area into a fiery mass similar to an earthquake," according to its expression.

It pointed out that the raids led to the killing of a civilian and the injury of 6 others with serious injuries.

Aoun condemns
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the Israeli raids that targeted "civilian facilities," while the Israeli army said it bombed infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah.

Aoun considered that "the seriousness of the last aggression is that it comes after the ceasefire agreement in Gaza."

Lebanese President Aoun stated in his declaration that this timing "poses fundamental challenges to us as Lebanese and to the international community, including the question of whether anyone thinks to compensate for Gaza in Lebanon, to ensure his need for political sustenance through fire and killing," according to his expression.

In October 2023, Israel launched an aggression on Lebanon which turned into a full-scale war in September 2024, during which more than 4,000 people were killed and about 17,000 others were injured.

Despite reaching a ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel in November 2024, Tel Aviv breached it more than 4500 times, resulting in hundreds of casualties and injuries.

In defiance of the agreement, Israel occupies 5 Lebanese hills it seized during the last war, in addition to other areas it has occupied for decades.

Under American pressure, last August the Lebanese government decided to disarm Hezbollah. The army developed a five-stage plan to withdraw the weapons, a decision which the party quickly rejected, calling it a "sin".
