Khaberni - Microsoft faced a sudden technical crisis, which resulted in the disruption of many of its vital services, especially the "Teams" app, causing dissatisfaction among users in Europe, the United Kingdom, and Africa.
According to the "Metro" newspaper reported on Thursday, the company has opened an urgent investigation into the defect preventing users from logging into the "Microsoft 365" platform, indicating that the problem caused a "service degradation" across several core applications.
According to Microsoft's official service status page, the investigation is currently focused on the infrastructure for Load Balancing, which is responsible for distributing data traffic within the company’s systems.
Initial Response
In its latest statement, the company said, "We are examining diagnostic data to determine the root cause of the problem, currently focusing on load balancing components that may be responsible for the outage."
The problem started on Wednesday evening and continued until Thursday, when users began complaining about disruptions to Teams, Outlook, Intune, and Azure services, as well as difficulties accessing the Microsoft 360 management center.
Temporary Fix.. and Ongoing Complaints
Despite an announcement from the company on its official "X" platform account about temporarily fixing the outage, complaints continued from users in Britain, France, and other European countries.
One user named Rob Carter wrote: "I can’t even access Microsoft's health dashboard to find out the details of the problem, and connecting to Azure and Intune services is still impossible."
Meanwhile, another user from France commented: "The Intune app is still not working."
A Major Blow
This outage represents a major blow for companies that rely on Microsoft's suite in their daily operations, as the platform includes a wide range of essential applications such as "Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Skype for Business".
In related news, the company revealed that its Azure cloud services, Microsoft's cloud computing platform, suffer from "significant loss in operational capability" across Europe and Africa, leading to disruptions in login and storage operations for thousands of users.
In its latest statement, the company said: "We are aware of the problem and are working on analyzing the root factors that led to its occurrence, to ensure the restoration of services as soon as possible".
