Khaberni - On Friday, the Peruvian Parliament impeached the country's president, Dina Boluarte, who refused to appear before Congress during a hearing session.
A wide majority of the parliamentarians voted to impeach Boluarte from the presidency, with 118 out of 122 members supporting the impeachment motion.
Boluarte had been widely criticized for her inability to curb crime, and since the beginning of her term in December 2022, there have been widespread demonstrations in the country.
