Khaberni - Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Al-Safadi participated on Thursday in the ministerial meeting on implementing the proposal of the American President Donald Trump to end the war on Gaza, which was hosted by French Foreign Minister Jean Noel Paro and opened by French President Emmanuel Macron.
The meeting discussed the importance of adhering to the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, mechanisms for implementing the first phase of it, and leading to ending the war and implementing the agreement for exchange and withdrawal of Israeli forces from the sector, and allowing adequate and immediate humanitarian aid.
During his intervention at the meeting, Al-Safadi emphasized the necessity of adhering to the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, implementing all its clauses, ending the war, and addressing the catastrophic consequences caused by the aggression, ensuring the entry of adequate and immediate humanitarian aid to end the famine facing the sector.
Al-Safadi also affirmed Jordan's continued pivotal humanitarian role in delivering aid to Gaza, in cooperation with brothers, the international community, and United Nations organizations, and the readiness of the kingdom to resume aid entry to Gaza immediately upon the removal of Israeli restrictions, and ensuring the safe arrival of aid according to international law and international humanitarian law.
Al-Safadi praised the decisive role of American President Donald Trump in reaching this agreement and his commitment to ending the war, ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid, preventing displacement, reconstructing Gaza, preventing annexation of the West Bank, and promoting peace efforts. Al-Safadi appreciated the efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey in reaching the agreement.
Al-Safadi reiterated that the kingdom will continue to work with brothers and regional and international partners to launch a real and effective pathway towards a just peace based on a two-state solution.
The meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Turkey, the Kingdom of Spain, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Italian Republic, the United Kingdom, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, the high representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and representatives from the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Canada, and the Hellenic Republic.
Al-Safadi and the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, and the Minister of State in the UAE Foreign Ministry also attended a meeting held by French President Emmanuel Macron and attended by French Foreign Minister Jean Noel Paro, who also conducted discussions with the ministers about the ceasefire agreement and ways to ensure its implementation and build on it to end the war and find a political horizon to achieve a fair peace according to the recognized references and in line with the New York declaration.
During the meeting, Al-Safadi valued France's recognition of the Palestinian state, its efforts in hosting a conference on the two-state solution in New York with French-Saudi joint presidency, which is considered a strong message from the international community on the importance of fulfilling the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them their right to freedom, end of occupation, and the establishment of their independent state with sovereignty over the June 4, 1967 lines, and its capital, East Jerusalem; the only way to achieve a fair and comprehensive peace that ensures security and stability in the region.
In addition, Al-Safadi held talks on the sidelines of the meeting with British Foreign Secretary and Development Ivett Cooper, who confirmed eagerness to bolster friendship relations between the two countries, and discussed efforts to end the war in Gaza and bilateral relations.
Al-Safadi also met with his counterparts participating in the meeting.
Prior to the ministerial meetings, Al-Safadi held bilateral talks with his French counterpart Jean Noel Paro.
