Khaberni - Trump spoke about his role in facilitating peace efforts between Hamas and Israel and ensuring the continuity of the announced agreement which will soon be implemented on the ground, and thanked Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar for their effective and mediating role in achieving peace between the two sides. However, he did not mention Jordan’s local and international role in promoting comprehensive and fair peace in the Palestinian issue and supporting the people of Gaza in every possible way, even though Jordan was not among the mediating countries between the two parties. His Majesty the King made several visits to a number of Arab and foreign countries to achieve just peace and the two-state solution, and politically support the people of Gaza, working on ending the war. In addition to his good foreign relations with several Arab and foreign countries, he sought through them and their cooperation to pressure Israel in the International Security Council, the United Nations, and the European Parliament, aiming to achieve peace in the troubled region, end extremist religious conflicts, and recognize an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. Even more astonishing was the silence of the political forces, media, and parties about Trump’s statement and their disregard for Jordan’s local, regional role and its permanent support for the Palestinian cause over eighty years.
In my opinion, Trump's plan will succeed in its initial phases, but it will not last to the end because Trump wants to enhance his image in front of the world, which was tainted by the Israeli war on Gaza that he supported politically and militarily, and through the veto that stalled the decision to end the war six times in the United Nations. I believe that Israel will renounce its agreement as it has traditionally breached treaties and covenants, but they want to initially pass the agreement in front of the world to receive their prisoners, quiet the families of the prisoners, ease the pressure and protest inside Israel against Netanyahu, Ben-Gvir, and Smotrich, and mitigate the daily protests in the streets of Europe and America, attempting to quell the daily global demonstrations against them as they are the biggest economic losers through the boycott of products and media exposure.
