Khaberni - Israeli government ministers meet on Thursday to approve a ceasefire in Gaza, mediated by the United States, and a plan for the release of detainees, signed with the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
A spokesperson for the Israeli government earlier stated that the ceasefire would come into effect within 24 hours of the government meeting. After this period, the prisoners held in Gaza will be released within 72 hours.
The government meeting is scheduled to take place following a meeting of the Israeli Security Cabinet which has just concluded.
