Khaberni - Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said, "The occupation is trying to manipulate the dates, lists, and some agreed-upon steps", emphasizing the necessity for Israel to adhere to what has been agreed upon and calling on mediators to pressure it to enforce the terms.
Qassem added that what the movement understood from the mediators is that the agreement represents "a beginning to ending the genocide war on Gaza", stressing that "the agreement for us is the end of the fierce war on our people." He explained that the movement informed the mediators about difficulties related to the delivery of the bodies of prisoners, but it is ready "to implement the first phase and is making every effort to make the agreement successful to put an end to the war."
Qassem mentioned that "the occupation is still evading issues of withdrawal, prisoner lists, and the return of the displaced", pointing out that "it's important to prepare the field conditions to complete the process of delivering the prisoners according to the agreement." He added, "All prisoners — alive and dead — will be delivered in the first phase of the agreement, and if the appropriate field conditions are available, it is possible to deliver all prisoners at once."
The spokesman urged the guaranteeing countries and mediators to "make the occupation adhere to the schedules that were agreed upon", emphasizing that the movement has informed the mediators "of the difficulties related to delivering the bodies of the prisoners" and awaits actual fieldwork to enforce what has been agreed upon.
Regarding the future of Gaza, Qassem said that Hamas "will not be part of ruling Gaza" and has shown "all the necessary flexibility in this regard", confirming that there are "approaches we discuss with the mediators to cease fire but not based on handing over the weapons." He added: "The weapons of the resistance are legitimate for defending our people and ensuring the independence of the Palestinian decision."
Qassem called for "a Palestinian national dialogue involving everyone to manage the Palestinian resistance", expressing the movement's openness to "finding a national formula for managing the Palestinian national struggle", and confirming that "Hamas represents our people's aspirations for independence, freedom, and hopes for return."
Finally, the spokesman reiterated the movement's readiness to implement the terms of the first phase "within its national, ethical, and political responsibility towards our people", calling on the international community and mediators to "practical pressure" to compel the occupation to enforce the agreement, end the war, and open aid corridors and reconstruction.
