Khaberni - The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that the ceasefire agreement would not take effect until it is ratified by the government after their meeting this evening.

Contrary to media reports, a 72-hour deadline will be counted following the government's approval of the agreement, expected to take place Thursday evening.

The Gaza ceasefire agreement took effect at 12:00 PM (09:00 GMT) to start the first phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan regarding Gaza, according to a knowledgeable source to Reuters, who expected the ceasefire to take effect immediately upon the signing of the agreement.

It was noted that the meetings of Israel's Security Cabinet and the government regarding the Gaza agreement were delayed by two hours, to be held at 7:00 PM (14:00 GMT), having originally been scheduled for 2:00 PM (12:00 GMT).
