Khaberni - The Moroccan judiciary in the city of Al Hoceima is looking at new developments following the incident of an attempted liquidation of the singer Mustafa Souleit, who belongs to the category of people with disabilities, on the morning of Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

An unidentified person proceeded to pour a flammable substance on the victim's body and set him on fire while he was near a café on Zalaqa Street, in a clear attempt to commit premeditated murder.

A number of citizens quickly intervened to extinguish the flames and rescue the artist, who was first taken to the Mohamed VI Regional Hospital in Al Hoceima, then later transferred to the University Hospital in Tangier, due to the severity of his health condition, where he is undergoing treatment and medical monitoring, amid widespread concern for his condition.

The security authorities quickly initiated an urgent investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor, to complete the investigation into the circumstances and motives of the incident.

The initial investigation resulted in the arrest of the suspect and placing him under provisional custody, with ongoing judicial investigations to determine legal responsibilities, and the prosecution confirmed that appropriate legal measures would be taken as soon as the investigations are concluded.
The incident caused widespread shock among the residents of Al Hoceima, who described the crime as brutal and inhumane, and demanded authorities impose the maximum penalties on the perpetrator to ensure the protection of citizens and prevent the recurrence of such crimes.
