In sound and image A legal step by Taylor Swift to confront AI impersonation

Khaberni - Global pop star Taylor Swift is confronting digital piracy threats through an innovative legal strategy aimed at protecting her identity from robotic cloning.

Swift has expanded her legal protection to include not just lyrics and melodies but also the "biometric footprint" of her voice and appearance, a move described as an attempt to close gaps exploited by artificial intelligence developers to produce realistic fake content.

In an official context, “TAS Rights Management”, owned by the 36-year-old star, filed three official applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The documents include a request to register a specific photograph showing Swift holding a pink guitar and dazzling in a glittering bodysuit and silver shoes during her famous "The Eras Tour".

The applications also include two audio clips of her voice saying "Hello, I'm Taylor" and "Hello, I'm Taylor Swift," phrases she previously recorded to promote her album "The Life of a Showgirl" last year.

According to the "BBC", Taylor Swift anticipates the chaos of "deepfake" that recently targeted her with fabricated photos and videos, thereby joining actor Matthew McConaughey, who took a similar course last January.

Legal experts believe that this move not only protects exact copies but also gives stars a tool to sue any audio or visual simulation that is "confusingly similar" to the original identity, thus setting a strict legal limit against companies that trade digitally in human features.
