Generation Z Abandons the Spoon and Rebels Against the Rules

Khaberni - Leicester Square in the British capital London witnessed a gathering of young people from Generation "Z" (Gen Z) to participate in a new trend that spread through the "TikTok" app, which involves eating pudding using a fork instead of a spoon, a bizarre trend coming from Germany that sparked wide interaction on social media.

The event, known as "Pudding mit Gabel" or "Pudding with a Fork," followed the spread of invitations online to try this unusual way of eating sweets, aiming to create a simple and enjoyable social moment that combines whimsy and a sense of community among young people.

According to the British newspaper "Metro", the trend started in the German city of Karlsruhe when an open invitation to eat pudding with a fork in one of the public parks appeared online, before quickly spreading to other German cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, and Hanover, and from there to Austria, and then to the United Kingdom.

In London, the event was organized by Lucy Josephs, an employee at the marketing agency Lasting Lemons, after she noticed the phenomenon spreading in Europe, and she stated in comments to the newspaper: "I saw the idea spreading and thought to myself this is a crazy, fun trend, and I did not expect anyone to show up, but to my surprise, dozens interacted through TikTok and actually came."

Josephs explained that the idea represents "the style of Generation Z", noting that young people aim to do simple yet rebellious and different things to build a community centered around fun and spontaneity.

The event was attended by dozens of young people in their twenties, some of them university students like Hope Lewthwaite and Ella Murray, who said that the experience was "an opportunity for socializing at no cost", while Ella confirmed that she "will adopt eating desserts with a fork in the future".

A group of young Germans also attended, who expressed regret for missing the trend in their country, and one of them named Maria said she preferred the spoon but enjoyed the experience despite its strangeness.

The meeting, which lasted about an hour, featured a cheerful atmosphere free of tension, except for a friendly discussion that revolved around the definition of "pudding", between those who considered it a liquid dessert and هلاcream, and those who expanded the concept to include chocolate mousse and yogurt.

The event piqued the interest of social media users, as it represents a model of the rebellious way of young people in turning the simplest ideas into cross-cultural social events, combining a spirit of humor and a group experience in an era dominated by virtual interaction.
