Khaberni - Dr. Imad Hijazin, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, sponsored on Tuesday the graduation ceremony of students from Ammon Applied University College in the majors of Bachelor of Hotel Management, Bachelor of Hotel Management / Event Business Management, Diploma in Hotel Management, and Culinary Arts. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordanian Company for Hotel and Touristic Education Michel Nazzal, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Director General of the Department of Antiquities, Director General of the Tourism Promotion Authority, Director General of the Future Skills Fund, Director General of the Vocational Training Corporation, and several representatives from tourist associations and college partners, members of the Board of Trustees, and the faculty and administrative staff, along with the graduates’ families.
During the ceremony, Minister Hijazin expressed his pride in the advanced level the college has achieved in the field of hotel and tourism education. He praised its role in preparing and qualifying national talents capable of competing in the local and regional job markets.
He also highlighted the tourism sector as one of the pillars of national development and a crucial element in enhancing Jordan’s tourism status regionally and internationally, noting that Jordan possesses unique qualities that qualify it to be a distinguished tourist destination all year round.
Hijazin stated: "We may not be able to plant a tree everywhere, nor establish a factory in every location, but we can develop a tourism product anywhere in this nation, for Jordan is a land rich with its stories, vibrant with its heritage, and replete with its beauty that never runs out."
In turn, Dr. Dahab Al-Barari, the college’s acting dean, expressed her pride in the college graduates, confirming the college's commitment to empowering its students academically and practically to be distinguished ambassadors in the tourism and hotel sector institutions.
The ceremony included speeches by the graduates, a video presentation of a unique success story, honoring of the top students, and presentation of certificates and awards of appreciation, alongside presenting a plaque from the college to the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities in appreciation for his sponsorship of the event.
The event concluded with the cutting of the graduation cake and taking commemorative photos with the graduates and their families, amidst celebratory atmosphere where attendees expressed their pride in this achievement.
