Khaberni - In its commitment to enhancing academic cooperation and active participation in national and international initiatives, the College of Pharmacy at Zaytuna University of Jordan, represented by its Dean Professor Dr. Alaa Al-Husban, participated in the introductory meeting of the UNITWIN program and the launch of the Regional Center of Excellence for Pharmacists (FIP-EMR Pharm CoE), organized by the Jordanian Pharmacists Association (JPA) in partnership with UNESCO and the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), attended by a number of deans of pharmacy colleges, representatives of universities and health institutions in Jordan.
During the opening remarks, the head of the Pharmacists Syndicate, Dr. Zaid Al-Kilani, emphasized the syndicate's eagerness to be an active partner in global initiatives that involve universities and international organizations aimed at supporting scientific research and developing academic curricula. Deputy President of the Higher Education Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission, Dr. Saad Bani Mohammed, noted that higher education in Jordan is a fundamental pillar for national development, continuously working to update academic accreditation standards and quality assurance to align with labor market requirements, especially in health specialties that directly impact human life.
He explained that pharmaceutical education is given special priority in development plans, through supporting universities in updating their academic plans to enhance the integration of theoretical knowledge, practical and clinical training.
This initiative is part of enhancing pharmaceutical education and regional scientific research, opening new prospects for cooperation between pharmacy colleges and professional and international institutions, contributing to the preparation of qualified pharmacists capable of keeping up with global developments in education and pharmaceutical practice, and aiding in improving the efficiency of Jordanian pharmacists and enhancing the profession's status both locally and regionally.
At the conclusion of the event, participants were honored in recognition of their efforts to support the development of the pharmacy profession and enhance integration between academic and professional institutions in Jordan and the region.
