Khaberni - The Spanish newspaper "Sport" revealed today, Tuesday, tense developments in the file of renewing Brazilian star Vinicius Junior's contract with Real Madrid, indicating that the "Royal" club is putting an alternative plan that involves selling the player and heading towards signing Norwegian striker Erling Haaland.
The newspaper mentioned that negotiations for renewing Vinicius's contract are still stumbling, but the player "took a step back" in an attempt to bridge views after the initial agreement previously reached was frozen.
This retreat comes amid Vinicius's realization that the club is not prepared to pay the net 25 million euros, which he is demanding for a five-year contract extension.
In contrast, the newspaper "El Debate" reported that Real Madrid set a cap for Vinicius's salary at a maximum net of 22 million euros (including bonuses linked to goals).
"Sport" confirmed that the club is clear in its stance: if an agreement is not reached before next summer, Vinicius will be put on the transfer market.
Real's alternative plan... Haaland awaits:
"Sport" points out that Real Madrid's "Plan B" lies in selling Vinicius, even if at a price lower than his market value, and using the financial returns to fund the deal for Norwegian Erling Haaland, who has long been a target for club president Florentino Perez.
Although Haaland renewed his contract with Manchester City until 2034, reports mention that his agent Rafaella Pimenta maintains good relations with Real Madrid, and according to the Spanish newspaper, Pimenta previously set a condition for completing Haaland's transfer to Madrid, which is the departure of either Vinicius or Kylian Mbappe.
The newspaper suggests that the Haaland deal would require a bid close to 180 million euros (his market value), which can be financed from the funds that the club will earn from selling Vinicius, describing the deal as "difficult but not impossible".
