Khaberni - The spokesperson for the Palestinian Fatah movement, Abdel-Fattah Doleh, said on Sunday that there is a Palestinian consensus on the priority of stopping the genocide against the Palestinian people, the reconstruction, relief, and restoring life to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and then embarking on a political path that ends with the termination of the occupation and realizing the rights of the Palestinian people.
Doleh affirmed that the tools for achieving security and stability in the region are keyed to a two-state solution and an independent Palestinian state with sovereignty over the borders of June 4, 1967.
He pointed out that there are vigorous efforts by mediators, especially Egypt, to overcome all obstacles before starting the implementation of the phases of US President Donald Trump's plan.
He emphasized that there is an understanding between the Fatah movement and Egypt and the mediators, adding: "Our position is well-known regarding Egypt, and we are not an obstacle to Trump's plan; on the contrary, we welcomed it, and said we are ready to assist in everything that would stop this war and enhance the rights of the Palestinian people and their presence on their Palestinian land, while preserving the Gaza Strip as an integral part of the State of Palestine and its single authority, law, and institutions."
The Israeli Prime Minister's office announced that its negotiating team would head to Egypt on Monday to conduct indirect talks with Hamas.
Doleh clarified that "whatever Egypt reaches with those in the negotiations, our position is clear and well-known, and what we have offered contributes to the success of the plan, especially regarding the administrative affairs of the Gaza Strip," emphasizing that the Fatah movement is in tune with Egypt and the Arab Islamic plan for reconstruction, recovery, and post-war efforts for Gaza through an administrative committee connected with the Palestinian government and the Palestinian Authority, and that there is no disagreement on these issues.
He added: "What is required is for Hamas's stance to align with the comprehensive Palestinian vision," indicating that "the positive stance announced by Hamas is considered in the right direction, not only towards ending the Israeli aggression and alleviating the suffering of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, but also regarding the internal Palestinian affairs and national relationships."
He stated that "Hamas's stance reflects an increased awareness not only from Hamas but everyone, that the national interest today requires a unified Palestinian stance, and that the time has come to stop the war and begin a new phase of joint national action under the umbrella of the Palestine Liberation Organization."
He continued: "What is required today is for Hamas's stance to be translated into practical steps that end the division and reunify the national institutions under the framework of the Palestine Liberation Organization, based on the pillars of geographical unity of the homeland, unity of the national Palestinian institutions, unity of the political system, unity of the law, and unity of the security institution responsible for the security of the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip and the West Bank including Jerusalem."
Doleh noted that the most important aspect was for this plan to be a gateway and a crossing point to a comprehensive political solution, especially since it was introduced under different circumstances, as Trump proposed his plan on the sidelines of meetings in New York, at a time when there were consecutive recognitions of the Palestinian state, a conference for the two-state solution, the New York Declaration, and a meeting of Arab and Muslim leaders adopting the Palestinian stance, meeting with Trump and expressing a unified position aligned with the Palestinian stance.
He confirmed that "the Arab stance firmly believes that Palestinian sovereignty must be present in any solution," considering that "the importance of this plan is that it be built on pillars related to a political course that aligns with what Trump proposes when he says he wants to achieve security and stability in the region."
