Hamas Led by Khalil AlHayya Arrives in Egypt to Participate in Agreement Talks

Khaberni - A Hamas delegation, led by Khalil Al-Hayya, has arrived in Egypt, according to a statement issued by the movement for participating in indirect talks with Israel.

The movement's statement said the delegation arrived "to start the negotiations on mechanisms for ceasefire, withdrawal of the occupation forces, and prisoner exchange" in the Gaza Strip.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had announced that its negotiating team would head to Egypt on Monday to conduct talks.

Hamas confirmed on Sunday its eagerness to immediately begin the process of exchanging detainees in the Gaza Strip with Palestinian prisoners in Israeli occupation jails, with both parties prepared to hold indirect talks on Monday in Egypt following the movement's agreement to release detainees in Gaza as part of President Donald Trump's proposal to end the war.

A source close to Hamas mentioned that the movement seeks to amend some clauses of the American President's peace plan in the Gaza Strip, including the clause on disarmament and the departure of its fighters from the sector.

Trump had published the 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza on Monday, September 29, 2025, which still requires the approval of the concerned parties, particularly stipulating his presidency of a committee overseeing the transitional phase in the sector.
