Khaberni - Dana Al-Zoubi, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply, headed a commercial mission of Jordanian businesswomen to the Federal Republic of Germany, along with a number of Jordanian businesswomen representing consulting, manufacturing, food, packaging, logistics, engineering industries, medical supplies, and IT sectors. The business mission's visit included several events, official meetings, and field visits to innovative German companies.
Al-Zoubi, in a press statement today, Sunday, said that the commercial mission consisted of Jordanian businesswomen and lasted several days last week aimed at exchanging experiences and building partnerships with the German business community, exploring opportunities for cooperation, and opening new prospects for future trade, within the framework of government efforts to empower women and increase their contribution in various fields, especially economic ones, and to encourage their active participation locally.
Al-Zoubi expressed the importance of the visit and the discussions that took place with representatives from the German public and private sectors and several institutions about continuing the Jordanian-German relations and the strategic partnership that unites them, which is supposed to be built upon to enhance areas of cooperation.
During these meetings, Al-Zoubi addressed the most important initiatives and projects implemented by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply, particularly in the fields of foreign trade, industrial development, e-commerce, and also working on empowering women and increasing their economic participation. A national team specializing in empowering women-owned businesses to access various economic opportunities was formed, recognizing women as fundamental players in all development efforts.
Al-Zoubi met with Christine Totzke, the Director General at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in Germany, where they discussed aspects of cooperation and existing partnership programs and debated several topics that contribute to enhancing women's economic participation.
The commercial mission also met with Abdulaziz Al-Mikhlafi, the Secretary General of the German-Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who praised the organization of this distinguished mission, noting that it was the first of its kind dedicated to Jordanian businesswomen, which leads to increasing the presence of Jordanian women in Arab-German trade relations.
Al-Zoubi thanked Al-Mikhlafi for his efforts in supporting the mission and organizing important meetings that will provide an opportunity for Jordanian businesswomen to enter the German market in the future. She also emphasized the importance of developing trade between Jordan and Germany and expanding cooperation in value-added industrial and service sectors.
Several bilateral business meetings were held between Jordanian businesswomen and their German counterparts, supported and organized by the German-Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where opportunities for cooperation and experience and expertise exchange were discussed. They focused on exploring areas of cooperation and expanding the scope of communication between the two business communities.
Al-Zoubi and the accompanying delegation met with Faiz Khouri, the Jordanian Ambassador in Berlin, who emphasized the importance of this mission as a qualitative step that reflects a positive image of Jordanian women and their leadership in various economic sectors. He also highlighted the role played by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply in empowering businesswomen and opening new avenues of cooperation with international partners. The embassy is prepared to offer necessary support to the delegation, contributing to enhancing opportunities for cooperation and expanding the presence of Jordanian businesswomen in international economic forums.
The mission's program also included field visits to a number of German companies and institutions, where the participating women learned about the nature of these companies and their experiences, providing them an opportunity to understand the business environment in Germany and explore possible areas of cooperation.
