Jordan A Ride That Ends in a Crime

Khaberni - The Amman Criminal Court sentenced a man in his twenties to three years in prison, after convicting him of assaulting and striking a driver with a sharp object (razor).

In detail, the man, who was a driver, was waiting for a lady near her house in one of the downtown neighborhoods of Amman to take her, when the assailant approached him and forcefully asked him to move the vehicle, to which the driver complied.

However, the young man followed the driver and asked him to open the car window to speak to him, and as soon as he did, he attacked him, striking him twice with the razor under his chin, causing a deep wound. He was then taken to the hospital for necessary treatment.

After completing investigations in the case, the court convicted the accused of felony assault and misdemeanor of carrying and possession of a sharp tool, and it decided to put him into temporary forced labor for three years plus fees, and to charge him with all administrative and judicial expenses.

It should be noted that the decision is subject to appeal.
