Jordanian Delegation Monitors Syrian Elections and Meets AlShar

Khaberni - A delegation from the Independent Election Commission participated in the Syrian People's Council elections, in response to an invitation from the Supreme Electoral Committee in the Syrian Arab Republic, including Jihad Al-Momani, a member of the commissioners' council of the Independent Election Commission, and Mohammed Al-Huneiti, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Commission.

The delegation met Mr. Mohammad Taha Al-Ahmad, the head of the Supreme Electoral Committee in the Syrian Arab Republic, and the Director of Arab Affairs at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to the Committee’s invitation to attend the People's Council elections taking place today, Sunday, across Syria. Al-Momani expressed the Independent Election Commission’s readiness for joint cooperation and providing all forms of support to the Supreme Electoral Committee in Syria, including various electoral areas, especially training due to the Commission's rich electoral experience which is placed at the service of our brothers in Syria.

For his part, Al-Ahmad praised the positive Jordanian role in supporting Syria in various fields and also praised the regional meeting on the digital transformation in election management, which Syria attended for the first time with a high-level delegation headed by Al-Ahmad, held in Amman at the end of last week.
