Khaberni - A tragic incident occurred in one of the villages of the Sharqia Governorate in Egypt, where a young student died after being bitten by a snake that emerged from the toilet seat inside her home.
The details of the incident began when the girl entered her home's bathroom for ablution, only to be shocked by a snake suddenly emerging from the toilet seat and biting her body, before fleeing.
Despite immediate attempts to save her, the venom quickly spread through her body, and she breathed her last before reaching the hospital.
In statements to local media, the victim's brother confirmed that the family is in shock after the tragic accident, pointing out that the area has been suffering from the spread of reptiles due to the proximity of homes to the drains and canals surrounding the village, calling for urgent intervention by the relevant authorities to resolve this crisis.
A similar incident occurred in March in the Thai capital of Bangkok, when a man was surprised by a large snake emerging from his home's toilet late at night, but he quickly called the rescue teams that rushed to the site and managed to extract the snake safely without any injuries.
This was preceded by another incident in February 2025, when a six-year-old child in Kuala Lumpur lifted the toilet seat in their home, to be bitten by a snake hiding underneath the seat, where he was bitten on the thigh and hand, but received treatment until recovery.
