Khaberni - We celebrate on the fifth of October every year the World Teacher's Day, honoring their role in building generations and shaping the future. In Jordan, this day gains special dimensions thanks to the royal vision that prioritizes education and teachers in the heart of national agenda. Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah played a pivotal role in translating this vision into tangible initiatives that enhanced the status of teachers and elevated the level of education.
Her Majesty has ensured that the Jordanian teacher is honored and appreciated through the Queen Rania Award for Distinguished Teacher, which was launched to highlight stories of creativity in the educational field and to motivate teachers to adopt innovative teaching strategies that positively reflect on students' achievement and skill development. This award, which resonates with the spirit of Teachers' Day, embodied a message that recognition of teachers is a national necessity, not just a celebratory occasion.
The establishment of the Queen Rania Teacher Training Academy came to translate the deep belief that the teaching profession requires continuous development, and that empowering teachers with modern knowledge and educational research tools is the real guarantee for the advancement of education. The academy has become a regional model in building teachers' capacities and equipping them with advanced skills, fortifying the values of Teachers' Day in elevating the educational mission.
At the level of school infrastructure and the educational environment, Her Majesty launched the "My School My Identity" initiative, which provided an incentive to enhance the belonging of students and teachers to their schools, and to transform the school into a space attractive for learning and creativity. This initiative has helped improve the environments of hundreds of public schools, linking the local community with the educational institution, solidifying the teacher's role, and providing them with a more equitable and just work environment.
Her Majesty's efforts are not limited to inside Jordan, as she has carried the message of education to international forums, affirming that the teacher is the main driver for achieving sustainable development goals, and that investing in teachers is an investment in the future of nations. Teacher's Day in Jordan is not just a passing global occasion, but a national milestone where we draw inspiration from Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah's vision of valuing teachers, and we renew our commitment to keep education and teachers at the forefront of national priorities, as they are the cornerstone of building a strong nation and a thriving society.
