Khaberni - The surrender of Lebanese artist Fadel Shaker to the Lebanese authorities ignited a broad wave of controversy on social media, especially since he was in the midst of preparing for a new artistic work with the Egyptian star Sherine Abdel Wahab titled "Haddouta," before the events complicated and prevented the continuation of their anticipated project.
During July last year, Sherine Abdel Wahab met with Fadel Shaker inside the Ain al-Hilweh camp, where after many attempts, she managed to obtain special permission to enter the camp to record and shoot scenes from their joint music video "Haddouta."
The meeting then created a huge stir, especially after Sherine was initially banned from entering the camp several times before she could complete the visit with support from the artistic team.
The song, which was supposed to renew the collaboration between the two stars twenty years after the duo "New Year," was written and composed by poet and composer Joumana Jamal and arranged musically by Hossam Saabi, while the video clip was directed by director Mahmoud Ramzi.
Joumana had hinted at that time, via a brief post on the "X" platform about the completion of the preparations, where she wrote the word "adjusted" accompanied by a victory sign, before all plans were halted following Fadel Shaker's surrender.
At the same time, Sherine Abdel Wahab is going through a completely different phase, as she is currently undergoing an intensive therapeutic program in one of the European countries, following a series of psychological crises that have affected her career and personal life over the past months.
According to Egyptian media reports, her treatment period extends from six to seven months, in almost complete isolation inside one of the major hospitals, where she does not have a mobile phone and her condition is monitored with a specialized medical team to ensure her full recovery.
Thus, the story of the two stars intersects at an unexpected dramatic moment; while Fadel Shaker faces a difficult judicial path that may determine his artistic future, Sherine continues on a long treatment journey hoping to return to her audience stronger and more stable, while the song "Haddouta" remains suspended, witnessing an artistic story that has not yet been completed.
It is worth mentioning that Fadel Shaker's surrender came after many years of being pursued with charges related to "belonging to an armed group in 2012, participating in fighting against the Lebanese army, and declaring his support for the Syrian opposition against Bashar al-Assad's regime," which brought his name back to the forefront of public debate, after he had stayed away from the limelight for years inside the Ain al-Hilweh camp in Sidon, Sidon fleeing from legal pursuit, after the Lebanese army accused him of participating in criminal activities, funding an armed group, and securing the price of weapons and war ammunition.
According to what was reported by Lebanese media, the artist may face prison sentences of more than twenty years if convicted of the charges against him.
