FIFA announces Triunda the official ball for the 2026 World Cup

Khaberni - FIFA announced today, Friday, the launch of the official ball for the 2026 World Cup matches under the name "Triunda," to be one of the most prominent milestones in the countdown to the start of the 23rd edition of the tournament, which will be hosted for the first time by three combined countries, Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

The name of the new ball means "the three waves" in Spanish, referring to the union of the host countries, while its design reflects an interplay of red, green, and blue colors, celebrating the shared identity of the three nations.

The ball is also adorned with symbols for each country, in addition to golden decorations that mimic the World Cup trophy.

The ball features an innovative structure comprised of four layers, providing greater stability during flight and balanced air resistance, as well as fine engravings that enhance control and shooting in various weather conditions.

The "connected ball technology" returns to be one of the prominent features of "Triunda", including an advanced sensing chip that operates at a frequency of 500 Hz, capable of transmitting real-time data about the ball's movement to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system, contributing to the accuracy of refereeing decisions, especially in offside situations.

FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, expressed his pride in presenting "Triunda", which has been designed to embody the unity and passion of the host nations, looking forward to seeing it hit the nets in the biggest edition in the history of the World Cup.
