Khaberni - The national under-23 team, led by coach Omar Najehi, has announced a squad of 27 players to participate in its local camp from October 2 to October 7 and the UAE camp where they will face the hosts twice in friendly matches on the 10th and 13th of the same month.
The squad includes: Murad Al-Fallouji, Abdel Rahman Suleiman, Salameh Salman, Abdullah Al-Shaqran, Arafat Al-Haj, Jaafar Samara, Ahmed Ayman, Omar Mrar, Mohammed Al-Shatty, Saleh Fareej, Mohammed Taha, Anas Al-Khab, Ahmed Al-Maghribi, Abdullah Al-Munis, Mohammed Kahlan, Hashem Al-Mubeidin, Saif Suleiman, Yousef Qasha, Ayham Al-Samamra, Momen Al-Saket, Amin Al-Shanayna, Omar Khader, Abdel Rahman Al-Zghaybe, Mahmoud Dheeb, Abdel Rahman Jarwan, Khaldoun Sabra, Ahmed Al-Harhasheh.
The team begins the second phase of its local camp, which had kicked off its first phase on September 28 with the participation of several new faces spotted by the technical staff from youth championships. The assembly continues from today, Thursday, October 2, until next Tuesday, before heading to the UAE on the 8th of the month for two friendly matches against the hosts.
The draw for the Asian finals placed the team in Group A alongside Saudi Arabia (the host), Vietnam, and Kyrgyzstan.
The team will kick off its participation in the tournament, which will be held from January 6 next year until January 25, facing Vietnam first, then Saudi Arabia, before concluding the group stage with a match against Kyrgyzstan.
According to the tournament system, the 16 participating teams have been divided into four groups, each group comprising four teams. They will compete in a single-phase round-robin format, with the first two teams from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.
The Jordanian Football Association is looking forward through providing training camps and friendly matches for the national under-23 team, to achieve the highest levels of preparation and support, as they move forward in the upcoming commitments, notably the Asian Cup finals.
