Khaberni - In recent days, some news has spread about the intention of the retired Egyptian actress Shams El Baroudi to return to acting after more than 43 years since her retirement decision. This news has been strongly circulated on social media, due to the actress's noticeable activity on Facebook, where she has unusually been interacting with her followers through some video clips and photos she posts on her personal account.
Actor Amro Hassan Youssef, son of actress Shams El Baroudi, has resolved the debate about his mother's return to art, issuing a statement in which he said that everything being circulated about his mother's intention to return to acting is baseless.
He clarified that his mother's decision to retire is final and irreversible, and has nothing to do with what some are trying to distort.
He added that his mother posting personal photos on social media sites has no relation to the rumors about her desire to return or as some try to interpret it as an attempt to attract attention, stressing that the esteemed actress vehemently refuses media appearances despite numerous attempts to convince her otherwise. He explained that her interaction with social media is like any normal person sharing moments from their private life, without any goal or intention of seeking fame.
It is worth mentioning that Shams El Baroudi was born in Cairo in 1945 and achieved great fame in the 1970s, topping the list of leading actresses. She married actor Hassan Youssef and their marriage lasted until his death.
In 1983, without any preliminaries, Shams El Baroudi decided to retire from acting, although she was preparing for a starring role in a new film, having traveled to Paris prior to buy clothes for the character she was supposed to portray in that film.
Since then, Shams El Baroudi has not appeared in any television interviews, only giving a few rare press interviews where she talked about her life after retirement.
