Khaberni - Dietmar Hamann, former Liverpool player, emphasized that Egyptian star Mohamed Salah has begun to show signs of decline in his performance due to aging, urging the club to focus on the duo of Isak and Wirtz.
Hamann believes that Liverpool should not expect an improvement in the number of Salah's scoring contributions following the arrival of Alexander Isak, who moved to the "Reds" last summer for 145 million euros, becoming the most expensive signing in the history of the Premier League.
Salah scored three goals and provided three decisive assists in nine matches this season, while Liverpool continues to adapt to new faces, especially after the joining of German Florian Wirtz.
However, the former Liverpool player thinks that aging affects Salah's capabilities, and the focal point in the team's attack could change after the arrivals of Isak and Wirtz.
Hamann said in statements circulated by British media: Salah found it difficult to score from open play in the second half of last season, once over 30 years of age, it's hard to get players who score consistently in a competition like the Premier League.
He added: There's Lewandowski with Barcelona and Harry Kane at Bayern Munich, but in the Premier League it's difficult to do that. Salah was exceptional and rarely got injured, but I believe everything will deteriorate at some point, and I think we saw that sometimes last season.
Hamann added: This year, the dynamics have changed, because in the past Salah was the player they looked for, now it might be Wirtz, despite his disappointing start, and there's also Isak, particularly the Swedish striker who could arguably take the spotlight from Salah.
It is noted that Liverpool spent more than 400 million pounds this summer to renew its squad, incorporating German Florian Wirtz and Swedish Alexander Isak along with French striker Hugo Ekitike.
Salah, the third top scorer in Liverpool's history, had extended his contract with the red club last April for two more years, set to expire in the summer of 2027.
