Khaberni - The famous singing star, Madonna, said that the battle for custody of her son was one of the most "painful" moments in her life, leading her to contemplate suicide, according to the British news agency (PA Media).
The "Material Girl" singer, aged 67, revealed that her spirituality helped her overcome the bitter conflict she faced in 2016 with the movie director and her former husband Guy Ritchie, over the custody of their son Rocco.
Although she was in the midst of her world tour to promote her album "Rebel Heart" in 2015, Madonna admitted that she was unable to withstand the pressure on stage due to the psychological pressures associated with the custody battle, recalling, "I would lie on the floor of my dressing room and cry bitterly.. I felt it was the end of the world."
The pop star spoke candidly in the "On Purpose" podcast with Jay Shetty, explaining how her spiritual life helped her overcome various challenges and see them as lessons rather than punishment, saying: "There were moments in my life when I wanted to cut off my arm, I actually thought about suicide, I felt that I could no longer bear the pain."
The artist also touched on her relationship with her late brother Christopher Ciccone, who died last year of throat cancer, noting that she reconnected with him before his death after a long estrangement.
She said, "I hadn’t spoken to him for years, but his illness and his request for help from me softened my heart; at that moment I said: Should I help someone I considered an enemy? And I did that. It was comforting to tell him while holding his hand: I love you and I forgive you," and Madonna indicated that she wrote a song in honor of her brother, asserting that clinging to hatred or the desire to take revenge is akin to "poison or cancer."
