Khaberni - The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that naval forces have already begun to take control of the global Fleet of Steadfastness.
The reports coming from some of the fleet's ships indicated that participants on board the ships Alma and Cyrus have been arrested, and contact with the majority of the fleet's ships has been lost.
Participants in the convoy said that Israeli forces had contacted them and asked them to change their course, shortly after more than 20 unidentified ships were spotted a few nautical miles away from the fleet.
The fleet stated in a statement that Israeli forces intercepted the ships and began boarding them.
This came moments after a statement from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which accused the Fleet of Steadfastness, which it describes as "Hamas' fleet," of being solely intended for provocation, after it refused to deliver aid through other means.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Israel, Italy, Greece, and the Patriarchate of Jerusalem had offered the fleet a way to peacefully deliver any aid they might need to Gaza, while the fleet rejected the offer.
The Israeli Navy directed the global Fleet of Steadfastness, which carries activists and aid to the Gaza Strip, to change its course for approaching an "active combat zone," according to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry in a statement said, "The Israeli Navy contacted the 'Hamas-Steadfastness' fleet and asked it to change its course. Israel informed the fleet that it is approaching an active combat zone, and is violating a legal maritime blockade."
