The government exempts Central Badia associations from the prices of treated water

Khaberni - The Cabinet decided in its session held on Wednesday, chaired by Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan, to approve treating the prices of treated and reclaimed water from the South Amman purification station as government support offered to the coalition of cooperative societies in Central Badia, and exempting them from the financial values incurred on water prices to support the expansion of agricultural projects and provide more job opportunities.

The decision comes as the cooperative societies in Central Badia use treated and reclaimed water from the South Amman purification station for purposes such as growing fodder like alfalfa, contributing to the establishment of developmental projects that have provided job opportunities for local residents and aiming to enable them to economically benefit from these developmental projects and sustain them.

The decision also aims to encourage the societies to continue providing fodder for livestock breeders on one hand and combating desertification on the other.

The decision is expected to contribute to the expansion of agricultural projects that previously began with eight thousand dunams and have expanded to reach twenty thousand dunams, and it is expected that their area will increase further, which will contribute to an increase in the number of agricultural projects and consequently, the job opportunities arising from them, knowing that all workers in the current projects are from the residents of Central Badia.
