Khaberni - International American singer Ariana Grande sparked widespread controversy after she posted a message on her Instagram account criticizing the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump and his supporters, to which the White House responded directly with a sarcastic tone, using quotes from her famous songs.

The post that Grande re-shared was written by activist Matt Bernstein in the form of a "critical message" against Trump's supporters, questioning whether their lives had actually improved after 250 days of policies described as harsh towards immigrants and freedom of speech.

The White House was quick to respond, where the official spokesperson Kush Desai told TMZ: "Save your tears, Ariana, because President Trump has ended the inflation crisis he inherited from Joe Biden, and attracted trillions in new investments."

He added sarcastically, "He even signed an executive order that paved the way for the Federal Trade Commission to take strict actions against the 'Ticketmaster' company that deceived Ariana’s concert audience.. Here’s to your speedy recovery, Ariana!"

The response, which included phrases like "Save your tears" and "as if by magic," quoting Grande's famous songs, reflected the White House's attempt to turn the criticisms into a subject of mockery, in a direct confrontation with one of the leading pop stars known for her support of the Democratic Party, starting from her support of Bernie Sanders in the 2020 elections, up to her public support for Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 elections.

This confrontation comes as Grande is nearing a major artistic return, as she prepares to launch her global concert tour "Eternal Sun" in 2026 after a seven-year hiatus, coinciding with the release of her anticipated film "The Villainess: For Good" in November, in addition to her participation in the fourth part of the movie "Meet the Parents".

The verbal battle between the White House and Grande has refocused attention on the strained relationship between the Trump administration and a number of Hollywood stars, who have become more outspoken in their criticisms of U.S. domestic policies recently.
