Khaberni - Jamal Salami, the national team's technical director, emphasized the importance of Al-Nashama's preparations for the World Cup through conducting many important friendly matches, leading up to this year’s Arab Cup.
In a televised interview on Tuesday, Salami said the friendly match against Russia was strong and provided the technical staff with an insight into the players’ capabilities, leaving a positive impression of the team.
He explained that he will give the rest of the players a chance in the upcoming matches, urging them to seize the opportunity to represent the national team as it might not recur.
Salami stressed that Al-Nashama's goal is to win the Arab Cup title, which is held in Qatar at the end of this year.
Salami revealed that the team will face African teams in November, which may include Mali, Nigeria, or an Arab-African team in a friendly match.
He mentioned that Hussam Abu Al-Zahab was not called up due to the end of his contract with his club, while the defensive positions see intense competition among players, with the national team list being narrowed down to 23 players for the Arab Cup.
He stated that "the Jordanian player is underrepresented internationally," emphasizing that all national team camps will be held outside Jordan "due to poor infrastructure."
He added that "coaches are fundamental to the development of Jordanian football," noting that he proposed forming a committee to prepare physical trainers for clubs, and that his impression of the coaches in the Jordanian league is "good".
Regarding the professionalism of the players, Salami considered that "the success of Tamari and the Arabs is not enough to promote the Jordanian player internationally," expressing his dissatisfaction with the international professionalism level of the national team players, noting that "the competitiveness of the players and their physical readiness concerns the technical staff."
He pointed out that "the advancement in the global ranking of the team is proof of its development," announcing his follow-up on a distinguished player in West Bromwich Albion.
He emphasized that "the doors of the national team are not closed to any player," explaining that Al-Arsan might get a chance if injuries occur, and that his exclusion was due to the presence of 7 players in his position, among them distinguished players Alwan and Muradi.
He confirmed that the technical staff had given Fakhouri a chance after excluding Aref Al-Haj, who was not called up due to circumstances with his club.
