Khaberni - An official in the Department of Mass Graves and Missing Persons in Iraq announced that the department's teams are about to complete the exhumation of 180 complete bodies and 54 body parts of "ISIS" terrorist organization victims in Nineveh province.
Dhirgham Kamel, the Deputy General Director for the Department of Mass Graves and Missing Persons at the Martyrs Foundation, said, "The 'Bir Alw Antar' cemetery in Tel Afar district was discovered more than a year ago, where a team and supporting entities were formed to begin the detection operations, and the cemetery was opened in five phases; we are now in the final phase where 180 complete bodies and 54 body parts have been uncovered."
He added, "All the bodies are currently being identified by their relatives through medical departments, and all are victims of the ISIS organization," explaining that the mass graves teams continue their work to search and trace other mass graves in various areas in Nineveh province including Ba'aj, Mosul, and Tel Afar.
The teams of the Department of Mass Graves and Missing Persons continue the detection operations in the "Al-Khasfa" cemetery in Nineveh province, which is among the largest mass graves in Iraq dating back to the ISIS victims during their control of Nineveh province in 2014.
