According to Law No. 34 of 2023, daylight saving time in Egypt begins at the end of April each year. In 2025, daylight saving time started on Friday, April 25, when clocks were advanced 60 minutes to maximize daylight hours during spring and summer, contributing to energy conservation.
Winter Time Start 2025
• Starts on Friday, October 31, 2025.
• Clocks will be set back 60 minutes at midnight to become 11:00 PM.
• Continues until the end of March 2026, when daylight saving time resumes.
Opening and Closing Times for Stores and Restaurants During Winter Time
• Retail stores and malls: from 7 AM to 10 PM (extended to 11 PM on Thursdays, Fridays and official holidays).
• Restaurants, cafes, and bazaars: from 5 AM to midnight (until 1 AM during holidays and vacations).
• Takeaway and delivery services: available 24 hours a day.
• Workshops and craft businesses within residential blocks: from 8 AM to 6 PM, except for workshops located on roads, at gas stations, or providing emergency services.
