Khaberni - The public prosecutor of the major criminal court in Amman decided to detain the suspect in the death case of the young owner of a barber salon in Zarqa for 15 days, renewable at one of the correction and rehabilitation centers.
The public prosecutor charged the accused with "beating leading to death," based on the provisions of Article 330 of the Penal Code.
Last Thursday evening, the young Jordanian Ahmad Awkal, known by the nickname "Khaberni," died of serious injuries sustained after being assaulted inside his workplace in Shaker neighborhood in the Zarqa governorate.
The murdered barber, in his thirties, owned a barbershop in Zarqa. He was assaulted by a thug and extortionist, resulting in a torn colon, internal bleeding, and clots in the lungs. He was subsequently rushed to the Zarqa Government Hospital in critical condition, before he passed away 16 hours after the incident.
On his part, the spokesman for the Public Security Directorate said that last Wednesday, on the 24th of September 2025, a man in his thirties was rushed to the Zarqa Government Hospital after being beaten with hands inside a barber salon by another person, in the Al-Hussein neighborhood of Zarqa governorate, and was admitted for treatment, only to die on Thursday evening from his injuries.
The spokesman for the public security stated that the perpetrator was arrested and referred to the judiciary and detained in one of the correction and rehabilitation centers.
