29 Decline in Palestines GDP During the Second Quarter of 2025

Khaberni - The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics announced the continuation of severe contractions in the Palestinian economy during the second quarter of 2025, compared with the corresponding quarter of 2023, which preceded the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression on Palestine. During the same period, Palestine's GDP recorded a sharp decline of 29%, despite an increase compared with the corresponding quarter of 2024.

"The Statistics," in a report issued on Monday about the basic results of the quarterly national accounts for the second quarter of 2025, indicated that preliminary estimates show a sharp decline in Palestine's GDP during the second quarter of 2025 compared with the corresponding quarter of 2023. Most economic activities in Palestine recorded steep declines in added value; the construction sector in Palestine saw a decline of 41% (29% in the West Bank, 98% in Gaza Strip), the mining, manufacturing, water, and electricity sector by 29% (22% in the West Bank, 94% in Gaza Strip), and agriculture, forestry, and fishing by 29% (11% in the West Bank, 93% in Gaza Strip), and the wholesale and retail trade sector by 24% (14% in the West Bank, 91% in Gaza Strip).

In contrast, most economic activities in Palestine saw an increase compared with the corresponding quarter of 2024. The GDP value during the second quarter of 2025 in the West Bank was 2,757 million US dollars, and in the Gaza Strip, 82 million US dollars.

During the second quarter of 2025, the per capita GDP in Palestine at constant prices was 531 US dollars, registering a decline of 32%, compared with the corresponding quarter of 2023 (21% in the West Bank, 88% in Gaza Strip).

In contrast, the per capita GDP in Palestine increased during the second quarter of 2025, compared with the corresponding quarter of 2024.
