Khaberni - The Secretary-General of the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization said that the Jordanian political, diplomatic, and coordinative efforts are ongoing to resend Jordanian humanitarian aid through the activation of the Jordanian relief corridor to the Gaza Strip, after it was halted due to a crossing incident.

Al-Shibli confirmed on Monday that the crossing incident hindered the continuation of the relief corridor, especially since the organization’s warehouses contain a load of more than a thousand trucks ready to be sent to the Gaza Strip pending its reopening from the other side.

Israel stopped the entry of aid from Jordan on September 18, following a shooting incident that resulted in the death of Israeli military personnel at the King Hussein Bridge (Karama crossing) from the other side.

Regarding alternatives, Al-Shibli explained that the organization has intensified its work within the sector by implementing food souk and bakery programs in the central and southern parts of the sector, especially with the increasing displacement movement in them, as the number of beneficiaries from the organization’s initiatives and aid reached 2.3 million beneficiaries.

Al-Shibli reported that the number of Jordanian aid convoys sent to the sector reached 201 convoys, with a total of 8664 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid.

Al-Shibli affirmed the continuation of the Jordanian initiative to support amputees in Gaza (Restoring Hope), reaching 599 beneficiaries so far.

Al-Shibli stated that the organization's work continues with international organizations and friendly countries to secure sustainable support; especially with the approaching winter season and its difficult conditions.

The Jordanian campaign, in partnership with the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, reactivated their special bakery on Sunday, distributing bread and flour bags to displaced families in camps in the south and center of the Gaza Strip.

The campaign confirmed the continuity of its bakeries' work to provide free service to displaced families under the difficult circumstances affecting the residents of the sector for more than two years.

The campaign mentioned that its bakeries in the south and center of the sector are currently operating permanently to provide bread to families.

The campaign clarified through its work plan the continuity of targeting marginalized camps that no charity or even relief institutions had previously reached to meet their needs.

The water supply project in southern Gaza continues to provide the residents of the sector with potable water, implemented by the organization in cooperation with the Al-Manasra Zakat Committee.

The organization confirmed, on Sunday, the continued implementation of relief projects in Gaza.

The organization said, "In southern Gaza Strip, the water supply project continues to provide residents with potable water, keeping hope alive despite the thirst and siege."
