Khaberni - Media reports confirmed that Liverpool is thinking about compensating for the departure of one of its top stars at the end of the current season by making a heavy-duty deal.
The Fútbol Fichajes account on X mentioned that Liverpool is closely monitoring Ronald Araujo as a possible solution to replace team defender Ibrahima Konate, should he leave in the future.
It added, “The English team is considering defensive options early because Konate’s contract expires in the summer of 2026, and the club still wants to ensure long-term defensive stability."
While Real Madrid is trying to sign the French player, Liverpool will turn its attention towards Barcelona to compensate for the departure of its international star.
Ronald Araujo is tied to a contract with Barcelona that extends until 2031, and he is seen within the club as a fundamental element in the back line.
Technically, Araujo is distinguished by physical strength, speed, and the ability to read defense, making him suitable for playing in central defense in either a duo or trio system. His presence provides Barcelona with defensive stability and the ability to handle pressure and second balls, and he is a natural partner for players with a constructive nature like Virgil van Dijk.
In contrast, the relationship between the player and the club seems relatively stable, where Araujo has shown signs of wanting to stay and contribute to Barcelona's project, and the club, in turn, has expressed a desire to keep him as a long-term pillar. This duo is in the club and player's interest, especially if the coach continues to rely on his defense as a base for building overall performance.
