Khaberni -Child Yasin, a victim of assault inside a private school in Beheira Governorate, northern Egypt, continued to demonstrate notable bravery, facing the accused again inside the courtroom during an appeal session held today, Monday, at Damanhour criminal court.

According to Egyptian media, the five-year-old entered the courtroom dressed as "Spider-Man" and carrying a toy gun, aiming it at the accused and saying, "I will defeat you and continue to face you with it all the time," in an impactful scene that reflected his self-confidence despite his young age.

The court decided to postpone the hearing of the case until the session on August 18th, to summon the chief forensic doctor, include the accused's medical records, as well as incorporating investigations carried out by the High State Security Prosecution and testimonies of witnesses.

The case, which has garnered widespread interest, dates back to April when child Yasin reported repeated assaults while he was at the daycare within a private school. A financial supervisor at the school, aged 79, was accused in the incident.

The Damanhour Criminal Court, in its initial session held on April 30, 2025, had issued a life imprisonment sentence to the accused after his involvement in the molestation of the child inside the school’s restroom during the school day was confirmed, in incidents that extended over a full year according to what the child stated in the investigations.

The court imposed confidentiality on the trial sessions by a court order, to protect the victim, limiting attendance to the accused and his lawyer, and Yasin’s family, while dozens gathered outside the courthouse expressing solidarity and psychological support for the family.
