Khaberni -The Kuwaiti Criminal Court issued its ruling in the case of tampering with electricity and water bills and damaging public property amounting to almost half a million dinars. It sentenced 3 Egyptian expatriates to 7 years in prison and obligated them and five other individuals «property owners, an employee, and expatriates», to pay nearly one million dinars in a complaint issued by the Ministry of Electricity and Water, «the court also ruled to abstain from punishing these five defendants».
The Public Prosecutor assigned to an employee, working as «a data entry clerk» in a service center affiliated with the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy - who is entrusted with safeguarding the interest of his workplace in recording data processes within its automatic system, intentionally assisted the other defendants in manipulating the ministry’s automated system to forge electricity consumption bills and remove them for certain individuals in exchange for financial amounts.
