Khaberni -A new Qatari mediation effort successfully gathered a new batch of Ukrainian and Russian children with their families this month of July, bringing the total to 11 children from Ukraine and 3 children from Russia.
Thus, the total number of Russian and Ukrainian children that the State of Qatar has returned since the beginning of its mediation efforts is about 100, according to the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the same context, the State Minister in the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Khulaifi, confirmed that "Qatar's ongoing efforts to reunite children with their families in Ukraine and Russia are an extension of its approach to mediation and resolving conflicts through peaceful means, in accordance with the principles of international law, as they reflect its steadfast commitment to humanitarian principles and international solidarity."
He also praised the role of the Commissioner for Children's Rights at the President of the Russian Federation, and the Commissioner of the Ukrainian Parliament for Human Rights for their diligent efforts, which enhanced the success of the efforts to reunite dispersed families.
