Khaberni -The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that more than 900 Palestinians, including 71 children, died as martyrs due to hunger and malnutrition, in addition to 6,000 injured who were seeking sustenance since the onset of the Israeli annihilation war on the sector.
In the latest massacres by the Israeli occupation, 67 Palestinians were martyred—including 63 aid seekers—and dozens were injured in a massacre committed by the occupation in the Al-Sudaniya area northwest of Gaza City this Sunday morning.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza stated that the occupation uses starvation as a weapon in the Gaza Strip, and confirmed that children are dying of hunger in front of camera lenses.
The ministry noted that the famine in the sector has reached catastrophic levels, with more than two million people facing hunger amidst the continued prevention of the entry of food and medical aid.
It explained that the occupation's prevention of medical supplies has led to the complete collapse of the health situation in the sector.
The ministry issued an urgent appeal requesting the concerned parties to pressure the occupation to allow the entry of aid, pointing out that "the world has turned a deaf ear to the cries of starving children in the Gaza Strip".
Malnutrition
Amid the escalating hunger crisis in the Gaza Strip, medical sources announced the martyrdom of the child Razan Abu Zaher (4 years old) in the Martyrs of Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah due to complications from malnutrition, at a time when the sector suffers from a stifling siege and near-total collapse of the health system and basic services.
Additionally, the administration of Nasser Medical Hospital in Khan Yunis reported that the child Yahya Fadi Al-Najjar (3 months old) died two days ago due to severe malnutrition and the absence of milk and its substitutes. The child was in a very critical condition when he arrived at the hospital, before he passed away in the intensive care unit.
Furthermore, Palestinian journalist Mohammed Abu Saada was admitted to Shifa Hospital in Gaza after his health deteriorated significantly due to severe hunger, according to medical sources.
The Ministry of Health stated that the medical teams in most hospitals in the sector, as well as the patients, had not eaten any food for 24 consecutive hours, which threatens the operational capacity of the health facilities and exacerbates the risk of death among the wounded and patients who rely on continuous medical care.
Director of the Network of NGOs in Gaza issued a distress call, announcing an urgent appeal for help for about 100 people with disabilities in a shelter in Deir al-Balah, where they live in harsh conditions with a lack of necessary support and care.
Targeting aid seekers
On the ground, sources in the hospitals of Gaza reported the martyrdom of dozens of Palestinians by the fires of the occupation army since dawn today Sunday; 63 Palestinians were martyred and dozens of aid seekers were injured by the fires of the occupation army in the Al-Sudaniya area northwest of Gaza City while they were trying to reach an aid distribution center, according to sources at Al-Shifa Hospital.
In northern Rafah, Nasser Medical Complex announced the martyrdom of Palestinians and injuries to others due to direct gunfire by the occupation forces near an aid center in the area, while the Israeli forces continue operations of demolishing homes in the Al-Shuja'iyya neighborhood east of Gaza, amid intense artillery shelling of the eastern areas of the city.
Warnings of invading Deir al-Balah
The skies over Gaza City and the northern sector witnessed low flying of Israeli warplanes, while the Israeli army issued new warnings to residents of southwest Deir al-Balah in the central sector to evacuate immediately.
The spokesperson for the Israeli army, Avichay Adraee, stated in an announcement on the X platform that the inhabited areas and displacement camps in 6 residential areas are required to evacuate immediately, urging residents to head towards Al-Mawasi area south of the sector.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority considered these warnings as the first of their kind since the resumption of the war on the Gaza Strip, revealing the army's intention to expand its ground operations into areas it had not previously entered, especially in the central sector which experiences high population density and contains large displacement camps.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has waged a war of genocide on the Gaza Strip, which has resulted so far in the martyrdom and injury of more than 198,000 Palestinians—most of them children and women—along with more than 11,000 missing.
Palestinian and international institutions have warned that the sector is currently going through the worst stages of famine as a result of the Israeli policy of starvation.
